Moving a property in Google Analytics

If you're looking to separate part of your site, you might want to move a specific property to its own account.

It's easier than you might think to move a property to a different account in Google Analytics. 

Step 1

Choose the property you want to move and in Admin mode, click on Property Settings. 

Step 2

In the top right corner, click Move property. 
You can choose if you want to keep the same access rights for the property once it's been moved or if you want it to inherit access rights from the destination account.

Choose your destination account

The property will have the same UA-ID as it previously did. 
Make sure you place the ID in the code or through Google Tag Manager, if you're setting up a new website connected to the property.
